Has come and gone, I guess. The rut must be about over, but not quite. The buck in these pics was worked up by another one just inside the marsh.
Then a few deer pics from recent. They exhibit little fear of humans or dogs. Of course no hunting in this residential area.

Wow, Bill that is a majestic buck for sure and the white dapple is quite unique. Of course I love the, "You can't see me behind this tree". Very well taken, so a Job Well Done.

That #2 photo showcases the muscle and power of that buck. He looks like a formidable force for the rut.

Please forgive me, but I think you have a wall hanger in #5, if its cropped.

I rotated the image to get the corner of the building vertical. The lamp and deer, both fit the rule of thirds pretty well.

I think the cropped version amplifies the essence of the capture.

Beautiful shots. Enjoy #5, it's as if she is playing hide and seek. Mahalo for sharing.

You're the boss.
Thank you. I rarely shoot with the thought of editing the shot at a later date.
Your suggestion is by far and away beyond what I shot for interest and eye appeal.
That short lesson may have helped me over a hump.
I have been displeased with my work of late.
Thanks to the rest who commented.

That was one of the things that attracted me.
That deer was cock-o-the walk.
The antlers were honed and polished.
No question on the sire of next years fawns
in that area.

You did a fine job of capturing what was occurring.

I suspect you did not have such a relationship with the deer as to able to ask it to wait until you could get into the ideal position to take the perfect picture.

Fine captures.

Learn to see the picture within the picture. Cropping can achieve the same as the axiom of "Fill the Frame".

Piebaldism is a sign of inbreeding. Not always, but to be suspected in an isolated area.
For our Delaware Hogs, there is piebaldism in the deer herd in Henlopen Park in Lewes.
Which may still wave entrance fee in winter. Makes it a double bargain to visit.
Not many dragonflies, tho.
