When I go to www.bestbatt.com, there are a number of batteries listed. I'd like to buy one that can be recharged with the battery charger that came with my SX40, and would be willing to pay more for such a battery, as opposed to paying less for an alternate battery that would require my to buy a different charger. But how do I determine which of the listed batteries are compatible with the Canon charger and which are not? Thanks.

Like most of us, I'd like to buy a back up battery for my SX40 at the cheapest price, yet provide me with decent service. Has anyone made comparisons of generic batteries with the official Canon one, such as overall battery life (i.e., how many times can it be recharged before the number of pix it will take on a charge is greatly reduced), how many pix does one get from one charging on average, etc. Thanks.

I bought an aftermarket battery from www.bestbatt.com (NB-10L) and have no issues with the charger or battery. I also noticed it is a 1200 mAp vs 900 which is what it came with. Cost $10.

So far my aftermarket versions (1200ma and higher) last close to double the original. It is hard to put a number on the life because it lasts so long I forget to keep track of how many shots versus how many times I am reviewing all the shots on the card using the LCD, etc, and I use the LCD 90% of the time when shooting....

All the batteries I got will charge in the Canon charger. I got one set of 2 batteries WITH the extra charger that has a car adapter and love it. Don't remember where I got it, but it sure works good!

I got mine from eBay so not sure about the ones at bestbatt.com
