Probably not an accurate depiction of the Kolkata air pollution but it does give you a sense of the poisonous, acrid yellow atmosphere that continually hangs over most cities in India. It is causing lung disease at an almost epidemic level. Kolkata is not the worst city Delhi is. We always check the pollution levels before visiting Delhi.
With the bridge in the background and the lone boat, I like this a lot. I almost wish I didn't know it was pollution. It looks like fog.

It's fascinating to compare this with the other, not only for the color vs. monochrome, but the different crop. Without any information, I would see the color as being a foggy day and also feel the boat as being more vulnerable in such a vast space.
This closer, wider aspect doesn't have that vulnerable feeling for me that the other did, but holds my attention for the environmental (weather or air) aspect.
Wow.. I didn't even see the bridge until download. Reminds me of smoggy days in SoCal during the 60's.
