Focus Stacked Saltwater Isopod Ventral View

This is a ventral view of the Saltwater Isopod provided by Bill (newtoyou) to be used as a specimen for focus stacking. I posted it yesterday as a Very Strange Insect, which of course it is an aquatic isopod.

If you look closely you will see deposits of salt from the ocean that have encrusted on parts of its body. This specimen is approximately 1/2-inch (12.7mm) long.

This image was taken with a Laowa 60mm macro lens set at 1:1, f/5.6, 1/10 second with constant lighting. The subject was placed inside an upside down translucent plastic drink cup with white paper towel on the surface and illuminated with four lamp heads. A piece of black felt was placed behind the subject to create the black background. This is a 178 image stacking session processed in Zerene Stacker.

As always, thanks in advance to all those who view and for your comments, suggestions, questions and critique.
