Sweet shots of a sweetheart!
Don't you just love the multitude of expressions on their face at this age? Great set and lovely lass!
Great set.
You really captured some fantastic facial expressions.
You have a beautiful granddaughter.

Thank you Michael! She is full of expressions.
Very nice captures, I love it.
maggiemae the 8th image is absolutely epic! Superb capture of an iconic dynamic moment...
Totally loving the wardrobe styling...
And such a charismatic joyful expression especially with arms outstretched...
You couldn't have choreographed it any better...
And absolutely razor sharp from head to those cute little beige moccasins...
The only distraction in the frame is the red coat collar in the distant background...
Which I would have immediately desaturated to the same hue, chroma and luminosity as the coat...
btw, that AF-S 50mm f/1.8G Nikkor is stellar... fabulous acuity...
And on an APS-C has an effective 75mm which is perfect for fully length editorial on such a petite talent...
Thank you so much for sharing...
And please consider taking some food along for those geese on your next outing...
Those greedy gobblers are easily lured in with even a slice of pizza... lol

Thank you Thomas! I loved that little outfit as well. So cute. I love the shot you mentioned as well and was so disappointed that her mom was in the background like that. But she is not directable lol and I had to capture shots as I could. Unfortunately I don't have Lightroom or any other good photo editing software right now. My computer can't handle the processing. One of these days I will be able to get an upgraded computer. I always look forward to your input.
No worries Maggiemae... in time I'm certain you'll find the right editing software for your endeavors...
That said I would be happy to make a quick fix of this epic fashion narrative and post it however only if I have your permission as the copyright holder... Just say the word and I'll go for it... it's only a one minute fix...
Thanks again...
btw, I learned a lot from this image... can easily see the actual zone of focus on the pavement under her little beige moccasins... this gives me a good handle on the optical performance of that stellar 50mm 1.8G
You are a very lucky photographer to has such a vivacious and talent to work with :)

I would love to see your edit Thomas. I wish I had the opportunity to photograph her more often. And this is the first shoot I've had with that lens (it was my Christmas present that didn't make it under the tree) and I loved it.
As per your request maggiemae...
This is a very quick rendering of your epic capture...
Touched up lens induced vignette; lightened her outstretched arms and brighten the lower portions of her enchanting ensemble... As well as taming that pesky bright red jacket collar...
maggiemae this capture would be cherished in any commercial photographer's portfolio... seriously!
btw, women excel at child portraiture (and new born) which is indeed a very lucrative market...
Hoping I will be able to say... I knew maggiemae on UHH before she became an accomplished commercial shooter... being able to put your subject at ease and bring out their very best is likely far more important than mastering convoluted technical aspects of photography...
Hope this works well for you on your journey...

Thank you Thomas! I really do value your input. It would be wonderful to eventually make money doing something I love, even if only for a side job.
