I've been having problems with On1RAW since the 2019 version. It started with OS Mojave not only with On1RAW but also with Topaz. I switched back to High Sierra, but this did not solve the problem: I can use all the effects in my image with great success BUT when I click "done" the computer shuts down, and I have to reboot it. This happens also with "save" and "save as" . In other words, whenever I try to save my work, the computer shuts down. This happens also with the latest On1RAW version 14.0.1.8205. Because of this catastrophic glitch, the software is of no use to me. I've been using their product when they were called "Genuine Fractals". I was very happy with their products till last year.
The tech support is ok, but it does not solve the problem. Any suggestions?

Without any additional information, it sure sounds like your computer, specifically the interaction between the OS and your software, is to blame. It could be insufficient memory or another problem. Without more details that's all I got.

FWIW, I am running an 9 yr old Windows 7 system, and not experiencing any of these issues. It has 32 gb ram, an i7 2600K cpu overclocked to 5 ghz, an Nvidia Quadro with 4gb vram, a 1 TB SATA III ssd system drive with 450 gb free, and an 8 TB RAID array with 3 TB free - all internal. It's dated, but it runs everything I throw at it, with the exception of DXO PhotoLab3, which only runs on Windows 10. And yes, I run On1 Raw 2020 with no issues, and have been an On1 user since V7,

I have not experienced that problem with Catalina on a fully loaded MacBook Pro. Just to make sure, I decided to duplicate your example with "save" and "save as" and everything worked; my experience was with both 2019 and 2020 versions. Time will tell. What computer are you using?

Golly, that’s what I thought. But, this thread had me scared as hell because I’ve never hit SAVE or SAVE AS!!

I after a bit over a month am still trying to get On1 2020 to work right. So far no problem with the Save or Save As commands. However the Masking Brush gives me fits and I have to use the Chisel Brush more than ever to get rid of background remnants. Been working with their people on it for over a week now. They sent me an update to try and bottom line now I don't have the 2020 version at all. Took hours to uninstall the whole program and never made it to reinstall. In the old days the programmer would just modify the source file; create a new object file; give it to Operations and they would run it. It was totally transparent to the user. Today the user has to uninstall the old program and re install the whole program which has taken me hours and sometimes a full day to do. In Version 9 of On1 sometimes it has a habit of suddenly quitting on me in the middle of an editing function and taking me back to Windows losing everything so I have to start all over again. I run Windows 10 with 8MBs of memory and 3.41 Speed or whatever it is called. I ran my antivirus program thinking it might be that but it came up clean. I ran HP hardware checker and it came up fine. I think 2020 has bugs but can't be sure. Wish I could tell you more.

Ok, I am thoroughly confused - on mid-2011 iMac running High Sierra and have zero problems except the Topaz API is broken for PSD files which Topaz support finally acknowledged today after 2 months of hmming and hawing.

The reason I am confused is there is NO save come or save as command on the Mac version. When you go to another image or back to the browser all of your work is saved then. If you believe me go the help search and put in save. You will get save settings and metadata as presets..

"Save" is found on On1 Version 9 and possibly not found in newer versions beyond Version 9...I don't know. I still use Version 9 as it may not have all the newer bells and whistles but it is way more reliable and much easier to use in my humble opinion. I no longer have version 2020 as said yesterday so I guess it is now just Version 9 for me. Looks like $70 down the On1 drain.

On1 gives you 30 days to get your money back and it has been a bit longer than that...perhaps a week or two. It has taken me that long to figure out the program given all the other stuff I have to do every day. I have not tried to get my money back. Maybe they will as I no longer have the program since they sent me a patch fix and it destroyed the program...as I see it anyway. I have been working with computers since 1961 doing programming and systems analysis for Mainframes, Minis and PCs and have never run into this before. I am either having a vast communications problem or ?????? Oh well......

I have a Mac Pro mid 2012 2x2.93 GHz 6 core intel Xeon, memory 40 GB, graphics Radeon RX880 8292 MB. I think the On1Raw 2020 program is at fault because I didn't have any problems with the older versions. I think my memory is up to snuff.

I agree that version 9 is stable. How can I get version 9 back? I'm more than ready to ditch the 2020 iterations of On1RAW.

I bought On 1 2020 and returned it. Too slow and crashed as well. I own On 1 2018. It crashed on my old laptop but works now.
I suggest you try a free download of Exposure X5. Great presets and effects.
