Or as my wife calls mine, "a collection bench", mine should be this neat!! Love the vise on the far end...you could really lock on to something with it.

I know what you mean. All the flat areas in my house and garage are covered with stuff.

Is that workbench very low, or is it an optical illusion?

There was a bench much like that in my uncle's barn not quite that clean, diesel fuel, oil, and grease everywhere.

Thank you for sharing!

Pffft.

Obviously the opposite is true.

There's been nothing
done on that unclean
workbench for a very long time.

In fact, it's more shelf than work bench. LOL

Work benches were lower in the day of hand tools for easier application of human power.

If you say so, but on my grandfathers and all my uncles work benches on their farms were all around the 30 in. mark.

Mine are too, if you could see them under all the stuff, and my grandfathers was probably that high also, however I was referring back to historic times, remember for most of us the 1900's are parents/grandparents era, check out 1700's and 1800's, some of our hand tools were in existence back then , interesting show though he has gotten more modern recently was "The Woodwright Shop", specialized in showing and using really old tools , like great wheel lathe, spring lathe, treadle lathe, carving etc, recently did a show on planes , how and why of using and different sizes.
