Thanks. Had to hurry. He disappeared shortly after and I haven’t seen him since. So hopefully he did head south !

Don't know where you are located, PRBurns, but here in KY Bluebirds stay year round. I've read that on especially cold nights as many as a dozen can spend the night together in a standard bluebird box.

I am in NC , a little further south than you. I knew they wintered over but never see them in winter. That’s interesting that they group together. They are quirky birds and generally pretty territorial. I’ll keep my eye out for more.

We have bluebirds in every month of the year. They look for clean nesting boxes and will come to check them out even in bitter cold January.
