Colville-Sur-Mer. Site of the 1944 D-Day Invasion and the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial
The cemetery is situated at the top of a cliff overlooking the famous Omaha Beach. It consists of 173.5 acres and contains the graves of 9.380 of our military dead, most of whom lost there lives in the D-Day landings and ensuing operations. The cemetery is open to he public and is and is one of the most visited memorials in France.
The French have not forgotten America's sacrifices.
