These are some of my favorite from the trip. This is Morani and his lioness. We were fortunate enough to see them on a couple of occasions. They were mating which means they will spend around 5 days together and mate every 30 minutes or so. It was incredible to see the true affection they seemed to have for each other. You could tell when they were getting in the mood as one or the other would start to groom the other. The actual event lasted about 15 seconds and the male would then gently bite her on the neck. For what ever reason they would then snarl or snap at each other for another brief moment, then lay back down, usually touching each other in some way, holding paws! After watching them for the 3rd day, we noticed the snarling ritual got a little less and less! Getting worn out I guess!
I hope you enjoy, these photos are what make me want to go back to Africa.

I love these. The one you said was your favorite is also my favorite. I also really like the Love Bite shot. Great series. Thank you for sharing.
