Loooking for a new all-in-one printer

Due to OS incompatibilities we are looking for a new all-in-one printer/scanner/copier. We currently have an Epson Artisan 837 that fits our needs. However from what I can determine it likely will not function if and when I upgrade our Macs to Catalina. My wife will only consider all-in-ones so recommendations for other types are not to be considered. Also we do very little photo printing. After a recent camera club presentation a speaker from Red River Paper suggested the Epson XP-8500 which is a six color unit like our current printer.

The question is: Can you recommend an all-in-one and/or are you familiar with the XP-8500.

Thank you in advance.

You might try installing it before rushing out to buy new (both printer and software). I have lots of old software that supposedly wouldn't work on Windows 10, and an old printer that didn't work on Win 8. Surprisingly, all seem to work fine on Win10!

We aren't rushing out, the current printer is around 6 years old and is a bit like me at times, kind of cranky. Also the ink is becoming harder to find. We have talked about the new one for over a year.

As to software (OS) I am putting off the "upgrade" to Catalina as long as I can, but will probably switch sometime in the next year.
