Canon - EOS Rebel T7i DSLR queston.
Just bought a new Canon - EOS Rebel T7i DSLR Two Lens Kit with 18-55mm (f4) and 55-250mm Lenses - Black for $700. from Best Buy as an upgrade over my (10+) year old
Canon - EOS Rebel T2i DSLR Two Lens Kit with 18-135mm (f3.5) and 55-250mm Lenses - Black. Not rich got to take what my banker says I can afford. Now question I have do you see any reason to keep the T2i? Should I Keep the 18-135mm zoom and sell the 18-55mm? Getting pressured to sell T2i by my banker to mitigate the cost of the new camera. Opinions would be appreciated. Thanks

Keep the T1i as a backup and the 18-135mm. If you sell, you won't get much for the camera/lenses. Maybe $200.00.
If I read you right, you now have 2 copies each of the 18-55 and 55-250. If so, definitely sell the 18-55s and the second 55-250. Otherwise, sell the 18-55. In either case, keep the 18-135 or trade in all those for a Sigma 18-300 for only $399

Sell the used for what you can salvage now. Every day it becomes worth less. And odds are you will not pick it up again other than to dust.
I am a teacher and as such, I have a different set of circumstances, but I'd keep everything. In my job, I've had several students borrow my old/expendable equipment to 'learn' photography. It's gotten several kids to join my wife's annual staff and hone their photography (and computer) skills as a result.
If you have friends, neighbors, nieces, nephews or grand kids, I'd keep the older stuff. The memories of going out with you and shooting the marina or the zoo could be golden ones for everyone involved, and as such, worth far more than the 200 or so the older stuff might get on the used market.

If you now have two 55-250mm lenses, by all means sell one of them. The 18-135 is a very useful lens, you'll want to keep it. Even though the 18-55mm covers a focal length included in the 18-135, sometimes it is nice to have a shorter/lighter lens on the camera. It won't net much by selling it. I have an 18-55mm, and don't use it a lot, but it is nice to have for certain applications. I would keep it for versatility. The T2i camera won't sell for much, but might be nice to have as a backup. Congrats on your new T7i, enjoy!
Why not introduce a young family member or friend to photography with a long term 'loan' of the equipment.
I don't know about having a second camera as a back up; back up to what?! I have several DSLR'S and I don't consider any of them as back up cameras. If you're not a pro photographer, you probably don't need a back up camera, unless your primary camera is an unreliable piece of junk, which a T7i is not.
It is nice to have 2 cameras with different focal length lenses. I often carry a full frame camera with an EF 28-300L lens and a crop camera with a Sigma Sport 150-600 with matching 2X teleconverter.
Keep your T2i and sell your duplicate lenses.

Your T2i and 18-55 won't fetch much, but some is better than none and will demonstrate to your banker a good-faith effort to mitigate the cost of the upgrade.
An alternate opinion: If you keep the T2i you should take reasonably good care of it, but it can be a "knockaround" camera, one to take to the beach -- don't put it in the sand -- or one for rainy days -- don't soak it but protect it with plastic. But baby that T7i, a fine camera.
I would carry it in car for every day use, I have an old xsi canon I carry with a 18-55 and use it once in while like a a small lake in town I saw the moon out in day time and it was by an American flag that is always flown by the lake and I saw a picture there and got them lined up and also a jet trail. It seems to be my bankers favorite. also you can find a sunset or sunrise. camera and lens are not worth much unless you don't have them.
I say keep it. I still have a Nikon D300. My Grandson has my D200. I took photos this year of my Grandson's Middle School Football. The 8th Graders were recognized at the last home game. Players and Cheerleaders came out on field before game. Used the D300 to take photos of that and had a telephoto for game photos on my D4. Don't like changing lenses on the field. Worth more to me. $200 would be spent and you would never know on what. A few years ago at one of my Grandson's youth football games had a young teen ask me about photography. Said he did not play video games, etc. and wanted to learn photography. Kind of sensed that he was from a family of limited means. A complete stranger and I gave him my old D70 outfit.
Keep the T2i for a while, to see if you use it all. If not then sell it along with unused lenses.

As others have already stated, you won't get much for the T2i or the "Kit" lenses, but if you can get something for them then why not. At least in my experience, the older Rebel series cameras can be difficult to sell at any price. I got no takers on my T1i and "Kit lens" after listing it multiple times at as low as $50.00! It is still a very capable camera and it taught me a lot along the way, but I have upgraded to another brand. However, I do still use it as a backup, knock around setup, and especially with my only macro lens, since it won't work on my upgrade system. In any case, you can either try to get what you can for the T2i, keep it as a backup, or maybe find some budding young photographer that would appreciate it as a gift. Good luck and good shooting to all.
I have a canon xsi/t3i/77D. Love them all. I was told by my astrophotography dealer the older camera have bigger pixels because less of them on same size sensor the are bigger and better for astrophotography. Like using a bigger bucket to get water from a well.
Your not getting much for the camera so keep it. The kit lens you can sell but not for much. They are plastic can break and someone might need one.
I would keep everything using the older for iffy weather
