I took over a thousand pictures but don't worry I'm not going to post thenm all! I went out looking for the bears that are supposed to be hanging around Ft Simcoe on the Yakima Indian Reservation but didn't find them. So not to waste the day I just started shooting anything and everything.

You had a great day.very nice. Henry
Overall, you clearly had a wonderful day shooting. Nice captures on the coyote, and the two images of the blue-winged teal. The images of the horses are very nice as well.
What I keep coming back to is the turkey. I am bothered by how close you almost came to having a spectacular image. I keep looking at the thumbnail posted, trying to figure out what went wrong. I took a look at the image data, seeing that you shot at ISO400; f/6.3; 1/125th sec.; program mode; and, at a focal length of 500mm. From this I am guessing you are using an after-market zoom lens that you were hand holding. I don't really see this as a missed focus, nor do I think the problem was entirely camera shake. I think your subject moved and your shutter speed was not fast enough, which is really too bad. Had you nailed this shot, with the turkey's waddle being back lit, the result would have been stunning. . .so close, yet so far.

Nice series, littlebiddle
You pretty much hit the nail on the head with your accessment of the shot. I wish I could do it over but sometimes you learn from past missed opportunities!
