Much of what we speak is actually on how you define socialism. We already have had a social system for hundreds of years--we once had turnpikes aka private roads--visit grandma pay the fee. Now you might drive without paying except for toll road authorities--again 'somewhat of a socialism mechanism'! It's also a capitalistic choice--pay a toll or find roads you paid for with gas taxes, but either way it's a system where people pay for what they get, assuming they drive or receive benefit from roads. This applies to most things in life--after all we are a society! You can't live off the grid that far to not be part of a socialist system. How we conform to our norms makes us a great country. So if society runs out of money it's us.
