Fabulous Thanksgiving family event portraiture...
My sincere compliments to the creative director on this epic project!
Amazing feat to assemble thirty eight happy smiling individuals for this pivotal moment...
Kudos on this stellar achievement...

Your D7200 with it's AF-S 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 was indeed up to the challenge at f/10
And the excellent choice of 1/320 for your on camera flash which works well here...
Especially since you deployed Red Eye Reduction Mode...
and Auto WB handle this with compelling finesse...
loving the twinkling catch lights in everyone's eyes

Food for thought...
In a challenging scenario such as this a speedlight bounced off the ceiling at 45 degrees tilt might have been an option for more even illuminate since falloff (inverse square law) is always latent in direct on camera flash for an extended depth in subject placement... albeit you certain achieved magic in your epic efforts...

Maybe put an SB700 on your Christmas list... lol

Loving those "little" people in the first row... they are soooo... adorable and precious...
thank you so much for sharing charlienow looking forward to more of your creative efforts!

Thomas, thanks for your comments....Much appreciated

I have an SB700. The d7200 on board flash was set to commander mode and turned way down...not much light from it...I had 2 Sunpak DF4000U External Flashes set in slave mode on each side using an umbrella on each...Setting up this way i was using the Nikon Flash Commander Mode or whatever they call it...It seems to work well....

The ceiling where i was is not finished.... bouncing a flash would not have worked...Next time i am going to use my SB700 on the camera as the commander with a bounce card on it...and the 2 sunpak flashes with umbrellas set up on the side...

I only get to do this once a year so it is a long time between shots...
