My daughter always spoils me with a great Christmas gift each year. Since a Tesla is out of the question because I would open it up and either get arrested or kill myself, I am asking for a battery charger for my smaller battery needs. I would like one that will charge AA, AAA, 9v, C, and D sizes. It has to be able to charge Alkaline, RAM, Ni-MH, and Ni-CD. Being able to charge different sizes/types at the same time would be great, as would discharge/conditioning. Thanks for any suggestions.

You cannot recharge the batteries you mentioned. Don’t even try.......They will likely explode.
Only use rechargeable batteries. Shop online or at a local. You can usually get a deal on charger and
battery combos.

Amazon has a universal battery charger that will charge AA, AAA, C, D, and 9V. It only charges rechargeable batteries. Not alkaline batteries. They shouldn't be recharged. The name of the charger is, Bonai Universal LCD Battery Charger. Price $21.99. If there is a charger that exists, that you are looking for. I am unaware of it.

I personally don't recharge Alkaline batteries ( not advisable as for as I am concerned ) but it is possible with the right charger. The link below may help in your decision making.

Over a year ago I bought the Fujicell Smart Quick Charger, Model No. FUJI-505F, which has circuitry allowing it to charge AA/AAA Ni-MH/NiCad/Alkaline cells. I have used it many times quite successfully to charge and recharge AA and AAA Alkaline cells. I bought it through Lazada, but it also is available from Shopee.

Thanks Loren, that looks promising. How many times can you charge them before they are useless?

I don't know if it will make any difference to the items you are using batteries in but batteries you can recharge have just a little less voltage than others. Some electronic devices could perform differently with less than the voltage they are designed for but for items like flash lights etc. it makes no difference.

I haven't really monitored that - and the batteries were quite old before I got the charger. I had bought them in some quantity at Fry's Electronics in Phoenix some years ago. I now pretty much use Ni-MH rechargeable batteries.

When I was a tad bit younger I used to race stock cars, micro midgets, sports cars and drag race any thing I was driving. I don't even dare test drive a Tesla - I'd get arrested. In the '60's a local Mercedes Benz dealer had repaired a Gullwing (firejob) and totally rebuilt the engine. It had no interior except for new gauges hanging where the dash had been. The dealer only wanted what they had put in to it, about $3,500. I test drove it on city streets. The sales manager and I were seated on cushions because of the lack of seats. I opened-up that puppy and almost scared the sales guy to death. What a great car! Great handling and plenty of power even in the higher gears. It would have cost me too much to properly restore it. I still
regret not buying it. In 2072 I'll probably regret not buying the Tesla.

Try Harbor Freight. Theirs will charge AAA, AA, C & D, and 9V but only cells designed to be recharged.

Okay you have used that charger many times to recharge Alkaline batteries but now you pretty much use Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. Why is that ? My reading of this is that you found that recharging alkalines was obviously not working !
