Man, that's a hell of a lot of planes in the air at one time!!!
Glad I don't fly!
will
It is a pretty cool app. The original post looks very congested, but when zoomed in it is not that bad. The ATC does a great job keeping flights separated. The next generation ATC will use GPS in cockpits so pilots will have real time info of all aircraft around them. The screen shot is tonight at ATL. You can click (touch) an aircraft and get all the info. Wait for it - I can go outside and point my iPad at a plane overhead and get the same info. Pretty darn cool.

How do they get them to stand still like that? 😃
You have to realize that most of these aircraft are separated by different altitudes.
I still have nightmares....I'm a retired Air Traffic Controller.

I have a friend that is retired from that job too.
They make them retire at an early age.
Yes, that and the ship site are both interesting.
Just checked it out. Cool website. Thanks.

Bob sir;
anybody who was flown in and out of any major airport should appreciate the great work you ATC people do.
Not any one can do that job. As a private/sport pilot since the early 1970's I flew under and around the ATC mostly here around the DFW ATC. You have my deepest respect sir.

Hey Dave;
HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for posting this link. I just subscribed for the Gold plan to try it out. I live 15 miles south of the DFW airport and the planes fly over us coming and going. I have always loved to see them in the air and wondered where are they going or coming from. I am as fascinated now as when I was a little boy. I started hanging around rural airports while a kid. That was all we had here at that time. Got my private pilots license
in 1978. I think I can spend some time fascinated with this site.
Thanks again for posting it.
And I also love your photo posts here too.
Peace bro and God bless you all.

July 1 2020, all general aviation aircraft must have installed ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast)by FAA mandate so all planes can see where you are on your GPS navigation device.
