Wild turkeys were extinct here in the land of the Pilgrims by 1850. Thirty seven wild turkeys were captured in New York and released in the Berkshire Mountains in the western part of the state in the 1970’s. Today, the population has increased to an estimated 40,000 birds spread throughout the State including the Boston inner suburbs. This one wandered into my yard one morning to strut his stuff.
Whatever troubles you may have, pause tomorrow to think of all the things you have to be thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving to all here on UHH.
Nice image. Especially for Thanksgiving.
They are also rather patriotic birds with their red white and blue faces! Nice photograph!
