Toast to Thanksgiving and to all the models who have graced my photography.
Very nice shots, I like the brick as a background. I haven't seen a Papasan chair since college (AKA, forever). I like the poses and the model is lovely. On my laptop screen, they appear to be just a tad dark.
They are dark! Strange as it may seem I have both the ones you see and the one in my file on the screen side by side and mine are not as dark as the ones on the net! Will some computer guy explain how that happens. Not the monitor as I am looking at them side by side. Some where out in the ether there is a gremlin intent on frustrating me. But, yes, the ones you see are certainly more than a "tad" dark. Thanks for noticing.
Guess it's the compression they use to load these on the www? Best way to view is to use the 'download' facility if the OP selects it as an option when creating their post?
Happy Thanksgiving!
I don't know what your editing program is, but I have noticed that exporting at sRGB seems to be the way to go for posting on the internet. I discovered this by exporting directly out of Lightroom (good results because sRGB was the default) and then making an additional edit in PhotoShop and exporting from there (the color was dark and dull). I imagine in some of the other Forum sections there has probably been some discussion about this.
I think that the Papasan chair is one of the best accessories for modeling that was ever discovered! The first one I acquired was just before Thanksgiving years past. Shadyn was living at the studio and Shadyn insisted that there were Papasan chairs out there to be found, but a new one was only $65 dollars by mail order. I inquired, is that shipping included? No it wasn't, shipping brought it to $135. Too much green!
So the next week I'm in the Salvation Army Store, I hardly get through the door and there it is, sitting right in the walk way. No tag on it so I see the manager standing looking bored as always, I walk up, "Why so glum chum!" I ask. He lights up and we talk a while, then I ask, How much for the Papasan chair. He looks and says $20. I look at him and say the girl wants one, found one on line for $135 with shipping, better ask more. He tells me it has a stain on the other side of the cushion. So I tell he, "Ok, soiled goods, how about $45?" He laughs and says "Your the weirdest customer I got! Make it $30 and it's yours." I say, "Na, make it $35 and no tax!" He shakes his head and tells the cashier "$35 tax included".
These are very nice but seem to be a bit dark.
