While in Japan in the late 1970's, I purchased a used Nikomat camera and started this fun journey into photography. These are three of my favorites, which I scanned from negatives. I haven't done any processing, so these are basically straight out of the camera. I may re-post in the future when I've learned how to touch them up. I'm not looking for advise, just wanted to post a couple showing how I got interested.

There is a lot of traditional Japanese dress that isn't connected in any way to Geisha.

Colors look great. Film? Brings back memories of my time in Japan back in the mid-50's.

Great series. Japan is such a beautiful place and the kimonos are so cute especially when on the young kids. Mahalo for sharing.

Number 1 is a beautiful Japanese doll. And I love the expression in number 3.
Thanks for posting.

Thanks for posting. Very nice photos. Wonder what #3 is thinking?

They brought back some nice memories. I was stationed at NAF Atsugi in 1976, and I bought my first Nikon SLR back then. The Japanese people were great to me and so I really enjoyed my assignment.

Keep posting,
Don

Well, Don. That's surprising. I was stationed at NAF Atsugi Japan in the mid 70's also. TAD (temporary assigned duty in Navy speak) three times. I loved it. Especially the weather since I was coming from Guam and the Philippines. From hot and humid to cool and dry.

Chief,
I was the AIMD Officer and briefly Air Ops Officer until an NFO transferred in. Earned my MBA there, too.
Cheers,
Don
