thanks its a young tawney owl another bird that was found on the road side because of the stress it went through its main feathers wont grow in so this bird wont be let out into the wild the farmer keeps it as a pet in the kitchen . jimmy

He is fortunate. Owls are protected here. He would not be allowed to keep them for a pet here in the states. They must have very loose laws over in the UK. Nice photos.

sorry bozsik your wrong very strong laws in uk the farmer had to get goverment permisson to take a bird out of the wild , jimmy

It isn't that I was wrong. I would have thought that would be the case. Here in the states you are not allowed to keep them as a pet and have them in the house as a pet. They are to be treated as wildlife and not domestic animals. You would not be able to keep treat them the way your friend does.

I was surprised to see them presented that way is all. It looks as though they really love their avian friends though.

I love the owls, my favorite. Do you have a rehab facility or do you hunt with these birds? I volunteer for the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program in Colorado and we have a great horned owl and a long owl as our educational birds.

no i went on a photo shoot its a hawk and owl trust and to finance it you can have a day taking shots of the birds ,its a great day out ,they fly the hawks so you can take pics of them in flight also, jimmy
