Exposure control in Post is one of the biggest reasons that I only shoot in the RAW format, quite often when shooting a variety of birds the egrets will over expose to some degree, or when shooting a bald eagle the abdomen may be well exposed while the head and tail get blown out but with a good RAW processor as long as the whites are not totally blown our or the dark areas are not totally black the image can usually be recovered in post. It is much more difficult to do with a JPEG image.
