My home office printer died and I need to replace it. I have not in the past printed many photos. But if I were to in the future, which would be the best printer to purchase. I would not be looking to print very large.

Depends on taste to a certain degree. Have not purchased a printer for some time as have been using FedEx Office and other print services for the few shots I do print. However, I have noticed that there is a difference between Canon and Epson printers that is similar to the difference between Kodak and Fuji film. Canon prints reds and similar colors brighter, Epson has a green emphasis. I always preferred Kodak colors and like Canon better.

I have an EPSON 7750 with the LARGE ink tanks. It does a fine job on the pictures I want to print. I have actually used it to print pictures for matting & mounting. I had a Cannon pro 1000 before and when it died I swore I would NEVER get a printer that cost me as much in ink every year as the printer costs. Good luck finding the printer that meets your needs

If you want to stay with all in one features, take a look at the Epson 6 color Claria dye based ink printers either the XP-860 (borderless 8x10 and auto document feeder) or XP-960 (borderless 11x17).

I use the Epson R2880. It goes from 16" to rolls. Nice for printing panoramas. It uses 8 shades of ink. Calibrate your screen and you can print very nice photos.

convince anyone that my choices are better than theirs but they are for me for over 20 years. Good luck

I don't print too many large pictures (8x10) but I use an HP Officejet. Not the best but works for what I do.
Hp and Canon use very similar designs, they work together, also HP now own the Samsung printer part of that company. I worked for HP for 32 years, my wife worked for HP Inc until just July 31.
It all depends on what you want out of a print, how big and what you're willing to spend.

I have very little experience in printing photos with the Epson ET4550 because I use Costco for 99% of my picture printing needs.
Being color challenged (color blind) I can tell you that the prints' whites are white, grin.
Also, I can tell you that in less than one year my Epson ET4550 (tank model) has literally paid for itself in ink savings alone!
The print heads need to be calibrated after about 1000 sheets and that is menu driven and VERY easy.
Epson Tank printers are the camera equivalent of the mirrorless camera!

I'll second the suggestion of the Epson ET-4550 bulk tank printer. A pint of each ink color is about $15.00 (give or take) so it is much less expensive to run than those printers with the plastic ink cartridges. Take care & ...

I have a Canon MG6220 that I've used for years as my office printer. It has three colours plus photo grey and a large black tank. I was a bookkeeper for a large firm and printed all of their checks, tax forms, etc. with this printer. It does a decent job on photos up to 8.5 x 11 and does a very good job on colour brochures, etc. I also have the Pro 100 that I use for printing pictures. The 6220 is very old and still works perfectly. It has never jammed, like my HP's used to do. And it can handle things that require straight paper paths! I'm sure there are updated versions of this printer, as I purchased it years ago.

We've been very happy with the Brother MFC's, reasonable, inexpensive ink, good service life
