Back in July I took a picture of the North American Nebula. Today I reprocessed the data with Pixinsight. The new image captured a lot more of the Nebula. All comments, suggestions and questions are welcome.
Link to the original image I sent out in July.

Hi SonnyE
Yep. I've been fighting clouds in Northern Ca. also. I might get a shot tonight and tomorrow then rain and snow the middle of next week. (Will be a good time to work on picture processing).

Nice job on this. What are you using for tracking/guiding? Are you using any calibration frames?

Add a few more hours of integration time and you will be amazed at that image.

Hi Europa
I was using a 5 inch Explore Scientific APO as the guide scope with a Starlight Express Lodestar X2. The scope was mounted on an 25+ year old Losemandy 11G mount. I used Flats, Bias and Dark frame when processing the image. The actual image was made using 11, 3 minute exposures and where taken with a canon EOS 5D Mark IV at ISO 1600 using canon 500mm F4.0 telephoto lens. The camera and lens mounted in a piggy back fashion the 5 inch APO. Thanks for the input.

It looks like that 25 year old mount is doing a good job!

I upgraded it in 2017 with dc servos and a Gemini 2 controller and it works well with the APO and Piggy.Backed 500mm lens. Sometimes has a bit of an issue with the C11 and the 500mm lens piggy backed ( maybe pushing the weight limit a bit.) I eventually will want to upgrade to a heavier duty mount.

I think we can only dream of such quality in mounts these days....
