Ok, more smut from Mr. Smutty!
I know, we haven't even done Turkey! Black Friday is almost here but it ain't here yet! And that dastardly Smutty man is posting a Christmas snapper? Oh, and because Smutty is never original he is nodding his head as though he is Scrooge between visitation one and two...so sleepy!

I have always loved the work of Bunny Yeager and her celebrating Bettie Page buddy. So here is to the two great women of pin-up, recently departed but of course never, ever forgotten!

Oh, Ms. Jenny KNOX is the stand in with her own interoperation of the great iconic image! She had never seen Bettie Page's images and was delighted as well with the work of Bunny Yeager. There were several photographers doing this image. I though that Pat Whitley did a bag up job as he had seen the Page image and had fall in love with the original image. Pat and I talked about the image and from a small copy we discussed the idea of the image and though it best to do an image similar to the original. It was agreed that this was clearly a collaboration between all of us. KNOX did some variations but this was the best of the best postings.

Too the two photographers who are here following on the Hog posts, I think this could be one of the image sets that we might decided to do as a great point of studio fun this coming December when you visit the studio.

Another fine example--I have a Bunny Yeager book-she was great model and photographer. And Betty Page images flew in battle on the nose of a lot of aircraft--the brunette Bombshell.

Yes Sir! WW II Nose Art. Interesting thing, all the 'naughty' nose art with girly images were in the Pacific Theater, because who cared what the Japs thought! (literally!). In Europe a different set of rules, nose art followed as one of the 12 Zodiac sighs as it's basis. BUT, one of the signs was discontinued as all the bombers with that sign as nose art were shot down, so it was considered unlucky!

Almost all the nose art collected as the war ended was collected by an Air Force General who got a buddy in the US Navy to bring it back. It is all housed with the Confederate Air Force in West Texas.

There are glossy books on the history of nose art.

All I can tell you is that on this day KNOX was sooo sharp that she had band aids for all the wounded photographers at the shoot. Perhaps it was her vibrating, she was in her glory with 8 men looking at her snapping photos of her. She loved male attention and would threaten me if I did not stop mothering her as she modeled and played the Goddess of the Photon!

Actually, Bettie Page did not appear on WWII nose art; she was photographed mainly in the 1950's, being made famous by Bunny Yeager and Irving Klaw. The nose art girls, if not painted from a photo of (usually) the skipper's girlfriend or wife, were commonly from Varga (aka Vargas) calendar tops. The cutie painted on the nose of my father''s B-17 was "Red Hot Riding Hood" from an animated "smoker" movie of the same name.
