Lightroom Problems Again

Since updating my iMac to Catalina 10.15.1, and my Photoshop Lightroom Classic to 9.0 Release, I have had nothing but issues. Seems pretty unstable and the LR screen jumps around a bit. I should say my iMac is new and has the max memory, so that is not the issue.

This morning I noticed that when I try to import, the import panel on the left shows my Mac hard drive three times tho there is only one. When I connect a memory card, the list of folders in the select source window shows the memory card, but it does not show any folders or image files on that memory card. Yes, I have show subfolders selected.

When I right click the memory card folder, and select show in finder, the finder window shows the folders and image files on the memory card.

For some reason, LR is not seeing the files, regardless of folder or image file type - NEF to DNG, JPG, or 3FR. Should I re download the LR software? Does this mean I need to delete the current version first? Clearly, I am not too smart about solving these problems, so appreciate any advice.

I have also noticed this but it does not affect the functionality of LR Classic....So far that is.

I would use the the CC app to uninstall LR and then Reinstall. I did that and it fixed a host of problems right after I upgraded to Catalina.

Have you been following the comments on this upgrade? So far, for the most part, they are not good. It seems prudent on this upgrade to wait awhile until the other software catches up and the glitches are solved.

And Apple makes it easy to restore your last OS using the Time Machine backup that you did before the upgrade. Apple gave plenty of warnings about this upgrade's new "feature" (that is - it's 64 bit only limitation).

That's beside the point. LR CC Classic and PS CC have been fixed and Mojave has been upgraded to 10.15.1. If LR CC continues to act funny use the CC app and remove LR CC Classic, then reinstall.

I got it fixed thanks to a guy in the Adobe chat room. Apparently when the OS updated to Catalina, and Adobe did an auto update to Release 9, the permissions were turned off. I went to System Pref, Security/Privacy, looked for the Lightroom and clicked all the boxes. Instant fix.

Yes, that is true, but there are other 32 bit software that will not run in Mojave and therefore this upgrade is not for everyone. Some of us do not do not need a 64 bit limited OS or the new feature "Dark Mode".
