That is a great shot of one of these upside down birds. We lived in Maine for 17 years and always had white breasted as well as orange breasted nuthatches. I have never seen an orange breasted posted during my short time on UHH. The orange breasted were always my favorites.

Neat little birds. Raised batch of them a few years ago in a bird house. Watched 12 of them crowd into that house one night in the fall. They outgrew the house and moved Into a dead tree outback. Counted 16 of them coming out of their hole a couple of days ago. They are fun to watch, great shot.

I see them occasionally at certain times of the year. Its also my favorite Nuthatch.
