Roman1825,
I just purchased a Canon EOS M6 Mark II in September and I love the camera. I am learning so much. I have a question? I am trying to find an inexpensive super telephoto lens that will work with this camera. I bought a lens kit from Amazon and it included a Vivitar 8mm, I can mount the lens but the camera will not let me add the fn. So the lens is useless to this camera. Any suggests would be helpful.

My advice is buy and use the Camera Me anufacture's lens.
If, you cannot afford New, consider Used Canon Lens.
Same goes for Camera Batteries, buy the O.M.E. brand that made for your camera
I realize other's will provide you alternative advice.

Are you asking about an inexpensive super telephoto lens or about the Vivitar 8mm lens?

I have found from experience, many Vivitar branded lenses are pretty much junk and a waste of money. They are pretty much akin to toys. This also goes for inexpensive super telephoto lenses. Most of your inexpensive super telephoto lenses are fixed aperture, usually F8 or slower. I don't know what you consider inexpensive and if you don't mind fixed aperture lenses, you should be able to pick up an 800mm mirror lens for under $300, just look on-line or on e-bay. Another reasonably inexpensive route is, get a reflector telescope and a mount adapter. Again, fixed aperture, but you can get pretty long focal length for pretty cheap this way.

Bottom line; you have a nice camera. Why junk it up with these cheap toy lenses that optically, suck. A used Sigma 150-600 Contemporary can be had for well under $1000 and coupled with a $300 Sigma 2X teleconverter, you've got yourself a decent 1200mm lens, albeit one that will still need good light.
