Admin, please move this to the Christian section.
Sorry, I couldn't find access to this part of the forum. I just noticed this section today. I'll be checking in on a regular basis.
A Christian section??? This is a photo web site.
Didn't know this forum had a Christian section.

Which has 30 or more specialty sections, most of which are volunteer-moderated. Here is the Christian Photography Group:

Yes, we have a Christian section.

Linda, this is the third or fourth time today I've come across folks that don't know about the UHH sections.
Should Admin require newcomers to certify that they are aware of these sections before they can join UHH? 😕
Seriously, 'tis a pity that people miss out on good discussions because these sections are somewhat hidden. I applaud your efforts to shine a light on them....

I remember when UHH user St3v3M would post a monthly note in main forum with information about the diverse and numerous forums that are invisible to newcomers. They are invisible because you must specifically subscribe to those; otherwise, they won't show in "newest topics" or the emailed digest.
Thanks for your compliment, but it's obviously a losing battle

I hate to be derogatory but I believe a lot of folks just don't bother to follow through on their reading... i.e., listed as the last item under Forum Sections is a listing for " all sections ". All sections on the site are listed here... Christian section being one. Kind of reminds me of the exact same answer given to a question many, many times within a thread; I know folks like their voice to be heard but it tells me that people are going straight to the reply line before even reading prior replies. I guess thats OK if you like redundant reading but I think reading the postings in a sequential order can eliminate duplication and give one a little more insight on maybe what his/her response might be. Maybe I am being too logical; oh well...

Do we really need to force people to subscribe to more sections? Maybe the "there are many sections you can subscribe to and here's how to do it..." type of post should be pinned to the "Introduce yourself" forum, instead of just the main home page, or be the first topic in the newsletter (to which I don't subscribe - I'd rather see for myself what topics I'm interested in). But I don't think more handholding will improve the content in any subforum.
Just my opinion, but if people want to find content with meaning to them, it's not difficult on this forum. I've changed my choices several times.

Andy, I don't think anyone wants to force anybody to do anything...it's a matter of awareness.
It's just sad to see people say "I didn't even know that section existed...!"

Maybe if when someone joins they needed to opt out instead of opt in more folks would be introduced to the variety UHH offers.

Perhaps it's something to do with clicks and traffic and ads?
