It's a road viaduct over a flood plain. It's an allegory for allowing the light into the darker recesses of your mind.

This is far too orderly to be symbolic of the darker recesses of my mind . But it is a good example of recession and geometric pattern.

I love these kinds of images. So much can be read into them. The only limits are an individuals mind eye and how they see it. BTW I think B/W was the way to go on this one. But that is just my opinion.

Graham I really like the photograph. I don't get the allegory about the mind and so forth but as an architectural shot with similar lines, dark and light it stands out as an excellent photo for me.

Graham I get it. I understand exactly what you mean. I just don't see the photo from that point of view. I do understand that you do. Not a problem. I admire the photo for other reasons and just as strongly as you do for your reason.

This is handled very well, I feel. I like that there is detail in the darkest areas. What really works for me is that the bright light on the left is reflected on the concrete on the right. It almost appears as if the light has skipped across the darker areas and illuminated right side differently than the middle. Nicely done. Exposure needed to be spot on to get this effect.

Thanks Erich, keeping some detail in the blacks is important, blocked out blacks are dead, they are no go areas for the eye.
