Glitch in loading up new ON1 RAW Version 2020

I was trying to upload the new version (2020) of the ON1 RAW software. I do have Lightroom and Photoshop (subscription version) on my PC with Windows 10. The install kept crashing. I emailed ON1 and received this response. Rather quickly I might add.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting ON1 Support.

We have an open bug for this error.
You should be able to click the ignore button 6-16 times and the installer will finish.
We are working on an update patch for this, but I don't have an exact ETA yet as to when this will be available.

Or the other workaround is to uninstall Photoshop, then install ON1, then reinstall Photoshop.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

So I tried to install the program based on their suggestion, and low and behold it worked. I know I clicked on the IGNORE button at least 10 times and finally it continued to install. Strange way to get a program to install, but it worked.

So if anyone else is having a problem installing the new ON1 2020 version this is the fix. I wasn't interested in uninstalling Photoshop so I took the easy way.

I don't believe the folks at On1 have together yet; this is the third time this week I received and installed a new upgrade (14.0.0.7975). I have not had any problems with the installation which takes place swiftly and efficiently but at the same time I don't see any change in performance.

I don't have Photoshop installed on my iMac running Catalina and RAW 2020 installed first time with no problem. No help for your problem I know but I'm wondering if Photoshop being on the machine caused invocation of some code for installing RAW as a potential plugin. Just guessing of course.

So far I've only encountered one problem with RAW and that was what looked like an infinite loop when deleting a bunch of images. I'm guessing a memory leak caused it to fail in a memory allocation request and the code didn't make any provision for handling such an error. A common coding mistake when one is under pressure to keep code efficient and fast. Just guessing of course.

Reboot cured the problem which also makes me think it was a memory leak since a reboot restores all available memory to the OS for new allocation requests...until the memory leak causes the problem to happen again. I've just upgraded my machine to 128 gigs of ram so it should be a while before the problem reoccurs.

I had the same issue, At the time I had Photoshop 2019, and 2020 installed. I uninstalled Photoshop 2020, ran the installer for On1 2020, then reinstalled photoshop 2020, copied and pasted the plugins folder content for Photoshop 2019 into the plugins folder for Photoshop 2020. That solved the problem.

Also You can uninstall all of Photoshop, install the stand alone version of On1 Raw 2020, then install Photoshop 2020.
