Well I bit the bullet and joined creative cloud. I guess I'm going to be a photographer now.

Just a personal opinion, but I do not believe one must "join the creative cloud" to be a photographer. One becomes a photographer when one takes photographs whisc are interesting and acceptable to that person. Photographs may be obtained via a camera (film or digital) including but not limited to SLRs, view, 645s, instamatics, cell phones, or any other device which can and will copy a view for later viewing.

I fully agree. I'm not all that good as a photographer. I struggle with composition but, I'm getting better. I also have some color blind issues. Namely with, shades of green and brown and purple, it looks like navy blue to me. That's why I seldom post a pic. Because, what looks good to me, may not, to other people. But, I have learned a lot, from the people here. I want to explore RAW and my old copy of ps cc won't t open them.

Yep! That's all it takes. A camera is optional.

It's getting to be that way. Just take parts of pictures that other people have taken, put them together on a computer, and there you go. No camera needed.

I say, Nope, that just means you can manipulate computer information. It is not going where the subject is and seeing it for the true beauty of its surroundings and environment. Not to mention that taking the work of others and piecing it in with similarly stolen portions of work is simply plagiarism and thievery.

I agree with what you say. I wasn't advocating doing that, just making a statement as to what can be done. For all I know it could be going on now, and could have been going on for a while. For me, I'd rather be out taking pictures than sitting in front of a computer.

ps
I'm sure that a computer can create images that are better than those I take, but the pictures I take are mine, not something a computer created.

To all who posted. Thank you and I would never plagarise anybody's work. My friends, have all told me, that I am the most brutally honest man, they have ever known. I take a personal pride in that.

There is color blindness soft proofing in Photoshop and I assume Lightroom. You pick which type from the view menu.

One small step . . . the rest is up to you and your significant other and how much time and money they will let you spend . . .

I think there is a line between derivative art and plagiarism. It depends on how much transformation there was. Is Andy Warhol a plagiarist?
