I was out visiting with a neighbor this morning about 10:00am and the temp was around 65F when a cold front came through. Three hours later it was down to 42F. By morning there is supposed to be about a -50F change over 24 hours. Wind is also kicking up to around 40mph.
One of the local weather reporters asked the question, "True or False: In recorded weather history. DFW has never had a freeze (32 degrees) and hit 100degrees in the same month.
The answer is False, March 1916 (3rd - 25 degrees, 21st - 100 degrees)

Oh yea neighbor. I live in Grand Prairie and was at my storage building when the front hit. Earlier I was out , Texas style- no shirt and shorts sandals. In 10 minutes I had put shirts and sweat pants on.
Texas weather changes, two days from now will be in shorts again.

In this present day and political climate, snowflakes are much more densely packed..............
My wife and son and I were scheduled to visit San Antonio several years ago in December from Seattle.I checked the weather reports with temperatures before we flew down. If I recall it in the 70's or 80's so we packed accordingly with short sleeves, When got off the plane it was in in the mid 30's. We had to buy sweat shirts. At the time I wore sandals and my feet were really cold standing on the grass during a light show at Six Flags that evening.
The greatest weather change I ever experienced was in late fall at Prudhoe Bay ,on Alaska's North Slope. It was in the 80's when I hit the sack and was snowing the next morning.
Here in the Pacific Northwest, it is the standard joke , If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes and it will change, and that statement can be somewhat true.
Yesterday in Buda Tx the feels like temperature recorded on my weather station hit a high of 76° at 10:55 AM and a feels like low of 20° at 8:45 PM! A drop of 56° in about ten hours! Overnight the feels like dipped to feels like. 16°. Very high winds contributed to the lows.

Texas weather sure does change. We visited my son when he was at Fort Hood a few years ago. We hit all seasons. Rain so hard we had to pull over, sleet and snow and I think that was all while we were in a traffic jam outside Dallas. It was over a few days but I was surprised how quickly it did change.
This may be nit-picking, but
DFW did not exist in 1916.
How true. We are just south of St. Louis and Sunday our temperature was in the 60's....this morning it was 12-degrees.
St. Louis has a 100-degree yearly range. Our summers exceed 100 and our winters dip to zero and a bit below at times. Living here is like being on a temperature rollercoaster.

Several years ago while skiing in Colorado, over early morning coffee the local radio station reported a smll town higher in the mountains had a temp of -50 degrees; about 11AM the radio station reported the same little town's temp was now +50 degrees - a change of 100 degrees in about 5 hours. We decided the small town was not to be on our must visit list.

I know brother,
I used to live there and blowing wind/sand wore down the chain and sprockets on my new motorcycle every few months. It's different.

Same here. Upper thirties and rain changed to below 30 and snow. Now it's cold and windy and getting colder.
I live in Wisconsin. We had 3 days of Fall this year. We've also had 3 measurable snowfalls and it's only the 12th of November. And I live near Milwaukee. We usually only have 2 seasons anyway here. Winter and Construction.

In this case DFW means Dallas-Fort Worth the cities not the airport.
