I disagree. It falls squarely on others as well. Including Obama who divided this nation in a big way, the alt left which cries r****m and bigotry when you disagree, the democrat party for kowtowing to special interest groups, the republicans for favoring corporations....thats just a few reasons.

We’ve been in decline for a while. The fault doesn’t lie with one party but both. And nothing will ever change if people can’t see it.

Rose, is Congress wrong to hold the current impeachment inquiry, or was Trump wrong to request an investigation by a foreign country of a political rival in exchange for Congressional appropriated monies?
Make a decision about what is relevant today to secure the future of our country. Continually blaming both sides, while comfortable, is a cop out.
Neither side is without fault, but what is best TODAY for the future of the US.?

Obama did Not unite the country; but in three short years Trump has all but planted the seeds for civil war.
Make America Great Again—-what a joke that was.

The current Democrats can only react to what Trump does, they can not dictate or in any way anticipate his behavior—which is truly questionable.

If Rose42 leans any further to the right she will fall off the fence and have a grievous injury.

No I don't think Congress is wrong to hold the inquiry.

Blaming both sides is anything but comfortable. To know that both parties are betraying us - continually - and people keep v****g for the same corruption over and over and over and over while pointing fingers at the other guys to me is simply nuts. The American v**er is the frog in the pot. To focus just on Trump and try to blame him for everything is the cop out. This has been building for years. And no, I'm not blaming it on Obama.

The best today for the US? A different president but there is not one candidate out there that would be good for this country. So whats next? Someone needs to step up - from either party - but I don't see that happening.

Tulsi Gabbard is the best of the democrat candidates but doesn't have a chance. What is it about this process that pushes the best aside and allows the dregs to rise to the top? Who is actually choosing these candidates. Obama was a nobody and a mostly absentee politician. Why did Ted Kennedy choose him as an up and comer when nothing indicated he was?

We are basically screwed whoever wins.

The seeds were already there. He is watering them. The current democrats could act with more integrity but that just isn't happening.

Trump is the current problem—he is currently doing irreparable harm that many don’t see, and others refuse to acknowledge. He has no moral decency; that in itself is simply devastating for the future.
The Republicans who are bending over backwards to protect their positions, and his presidency, are complicit, and will be appropriately judged by history.

We have more current problems than Trump though he’s the biggest.

An easy way to avoid controversy or criticism is to find fault with nobody, or everybody.

How is saying our system is broken and corrupt avoiding controversy?

I know a lot of people who feel the same way. The easy out is blaming everything on Trump and not looking at the big picture which is more ominous. Ask yourself how we ended up with two deadbeat candidates last time and how it looks like we’ll end up with another deadbeat candidate as the best of the lot will be squeezed out again.

[quote=John_F]Nagorski quote: p.3

"There are those who met (1) and recognized he represented almost a primeval force and possessed an uncanny ability to tap into the emotions and anger of the (2) people."

How many pairs could fit this passage? Shall we have a v**e?

Mao Tse Tung Chinese
Saddam Hussein Iraqi
Kim Il-Sung Korean
Muammar al-Gaddafi Libyian
Benito Mussolini Italian
Emperor Hirohito Japanese
Hitler Germany
Trump American
