"Tourist" singular
. That would explain a lot .Seeing the Flakes reminds me of a time when a 99 was the height of luxury and indulgence (to my juvenile mind anyhow). And a chip supper instead of just a bag of chips was for very special occasions.

Ah! The good old days.... when 5/- would get you admission to a dance hall or cinema, a pint in a pub and still have enough for a bag of chips on the way home, providing the girl you picked up at the dance hall bought her own drinks
