Took a bunch of the canyon. Here are a few on a cloudy rainy day. Still learning to use my Canon SX40.
got some riders. Learned later 180 lbs. max. That means some of us can't do these horserides
interesting spots on crow, mites maybe?
blown out sky, was focused on crows communicating
telephoto- in the park crows have no fear of humns
this deer taken through front window. One day I'll learn to keep the camera on and lens cap off.
deer taken in moving car out passenger window
The crow portrait reminds me of the Maltese Falcon.
Like that one the most.

I think that crow is a raven.
Yep, I agree - ravens, not crows
the last shot is of a pronghorn.
Nice shoots, especially the pronghorn. How were you able to get that close?
Larry
Very nice work!Love the bird shots, they are funny creatures.
OK all y'all are right. Wrong wing back feather pattern for a crow. I am ashmed, because I taught elementary science for 30+ years. Never should have missed that one. 4 years out and making mistakes already. I was too excited to get it on the site. It was a great trip. I have been there a few times over the years a few times when I was a kid. Only about 241 miles away from my home. Would recommend this trip to everyone that can get there.
Thanks runsthebitterroot.
How did I get that close? It is called a Canon SX40 with optical zoom capacity of 35x. I was farther away than it looks. It is a great top of the line point and shoot. How many capabilities of a DLSR without changing the lens.
And it is a pronghorn. Think before you write, I did not this time, to anxious to get pictures on the site. Lots of nice comments, and some good advice.
