A sign of our times, pity !

How true. My granddaughter came to visit this summer, my wife and I had a very hard time trying to get her attention.

Yes Jerry, that’s photography. Different eras, different cameras, but photography still. But at least the “now” picture due to better equipment is much better. But alas when I started many moons ago my pics were much like the “then” picture (could be the same camera in fact). I think I have improved somewhat but sometimes it appears not (to my eyes)

Thanks to all whom have peeked in and commented. The now picture clearly represents a lot of our younger people these days ( along with some of us older-sters too ). And saying young to me means anybody under about 55. My daughter and son-in-law both in their 40’s appear to be addicted to their “mobiles” as I have observed the two sitting at both ends of the SAME sofa texting each other. 😜 I think to them Facebook is a new religion as they basically live on it. However I guess it serves its purpose as I usually know what they eat at every meal and know wherever the go at night.
However this is not purely a younger thing as it appears that my better half (whom cannot be considered young by any means) could be considered addicted to her iPhone and would probably be quite distressed if she didn’t have it. Or at least be a bit difficult to live with.

THIS is what's meant by a photo telling a story!
At least the new generation are saving trees.

If they’re reading news, what’s the difference? Most of my acquaintances and I spend a couple hours a day keeping up on the world by reading newspaper apps (this forum also) on my tablet or phone.
YES, it's so much better when they burn up in a forest fire and cost tax payers hundreds of millions of dollars or die because of pine beetles.

Good shot! What I hate is to see families in restaurants all busy on their phones and not talking to each other...
Perhaps they are all reading the newspaper on their phones. That’s what I’ve been doing since the ##$$% carrier quit. More and more papers are going digital. (I doubt this is true, but it’s a possibility.)
