Not on a Mac, but I'm finding one really annoying difference since the most recent update to Ps. Specifically, when I want to browse a folder of images, I do so in Bridge. Been doing this for 20 years or more, since Ps4, and doing so is my norm. Never noticed this before, but I rarely use Bridge. However, I have both 2019 and 2020 both loaded on my computer, and 2019 behaves like you describe, but 2020 works as Photoshop always has in the past.
