Desmond Doss was a hero, a conscious objector who was a patriot and served his country honorably as a non combatant. Nothing like the sissy cowards of today who brag on their political prowess, or conscripts who trash their uniform and their country.

Ali wasn’t heroic. Far from everyone considered him to be. He didn’t lose everything, he lost some things for a while but he also got a lot of publicity. Some did lose everything, mothers and fathers lost children, wives lost husbands, children lost a parent.

I have no issue with conscientious objectors - only he knew if he really was one. But hero? No.
