Mercury transit November 11 2019

Just a reminder that mercury will transit the sun on Monday. I was able to capture some images in 2016 but had to travel 90 miles to get away from clouds. In exchange I was blessed with 35 mph winds making it difficult to get stable images.
Here are a couple of the shots I did with my Lunt solar telescope and Canon 7d camera. This year I am going to try using the Tamron 150-600mm and the Canon 7d Mark ii. Hoping for clear skies.

Amazing how small it is compared to the sun. I've only got Venus transiting. I'll try this year pending weather also.

It’s really a shame that the sun is so quiet right now. No sunspots and not very much surface activity. At least when Venus made its last transit there were sunspots to aid with focus and exposure.
This was one of many shots that I took that day.

Might be "The Calm Before The Storm", Jim.
I remember your great transition shots from prior years, You Sunshine Superman, You!

Personally, I like a calm sun. Sitting in L.A. Traffic with a 9,000-15,000 pound trailer on the hitch, I like music to sooth the savage beast that dwells within.
While the idiots who commute every day around me try new tricks to get one stinking car ahead. (I usually pass them several times on any given run)
They do it every day. And every day they do it wrong.
(Frustrating gutter snakes has become a specialty of mine... )

Lol. That went into the fast lane in a hurry. Don’t sugarcoat it, tell me how you really feel!

Well, between the Prius Pricks, Beemer butt holes, and the testosterone Tesla drivers, the rest of us just want to get somewhere, do something, and get home again, without the one-upmanship shenanigans.
I mean really, I'm wearing out my middle finger!
