This time the ISS takes on a passenger jet. This 113 second exposure encompasses 540 miles of ISS flight (4.86 miles per second) and 13 miles of jet flight (0.11 miles per second). This morning's passage over Livingston, MT appeared, from my perspective) very near Polaris (the North Star) and also intersecting the handle of the Big Dipper. Tomorrow morning's passage will be much brighter so I am hoping for another clear night. I use an app called ISS Detector for data on the International Space Station. It has an array of solar panels 364 by 240 feet and includes basically a 6 bedroom, 2 bathroom house.

Very cool! I watch ISS flyovers occasionally but have light pollution to contend with. You appear to have a nice dark sky?

It is pretty dark but town is 10 miles north and a 40,000 population town 30 miles west so I try to avoid that. A wilderness area border is 2 mile east, Yellowstone Park to the south. Something funny though, my neighbor is a California transplant and since having a bear in her yard 3 weeks ago she has had every outdoor light on 24/7. Looks like Yankee Stadium lights and I did crop that from photo. I'm hoping she's bright enough to shut the lights off when the bears hibernate in a few weeks.

Thanks for sharing. We have too much light pollution around here. Between the towns and hamlets every 10 miles and every farmer leaving their barn yard lights on, it is impossible to get a good night exposure.

Nothing funny about light pollution, it really messes up the night sky viewing. The lights won't keep the bears away.

How do you get such short star-trails with such a long exposure. Anything over 30 seconds tends to give me quite a noticeable arc.

You must have been up around 5:00AM to get that shot. Nice work.
