This drive works great but I don't use it anymore.
Works on my Nikon FM2 and other F series film bodies.
$35 plus shipping.
If memory serves me correctly, the MD-12 will work with FM & FE bodies, NOT F series.

Memory serves you correctly. The F and F2 both had very specific motor drives that were not intended to be just add-ons. You could add the drive that went with those cameras, but you had to send them off to have the drive synced with the camera, otherwise you could shoot all day and not get a single pic.
Both the MD-11 and the MD-12 drive would work on the FM and FE bodies. The MD-12 would engage the meter when you turned the drive switch on and if I remember correctly, the MD-11 would not. Both were durable and reliable drives. A few years ago I worked as a photog for the local paper and used an FM-2 with the MD-11 drive. A real work horse. It got jostled, banged around, and even dropped and kept working. One of the reasons I call myself nikon_jon. Is there anything else worth having?
Thanks for the additional information and the memory jog! :)
