I have the Lumix FZ80. Its a hundred dollars cheaper than the FZ300, has the same sensor, has a wider wide angle and a longer telephoto. The only advantage of the f2.8 at all focal lengths on the FZ300 is being able to shoot in lower light at the longer focal lengths. I don't think either is comparable to a professional video camera which will run about 20x the price. I can say the 4K video shows more detail than my D7000 at 1080P HD.
