Loc: Rhode Island "The biggest little"
After reading the post about the 2/3s I thought I would share with everyone. It's a doc I generated to explain the concept of composition to my photography students. I teach photography in an art dept so much of what we cover is art based. I do cover the technical aspects first then the aesthetics of any art form, photography, painting, sculpture, good art is all about composition.

Good start. Looks like you have a lot more to do too. It's a little difficult to follow based on the layout. In other words, I found myself getting lost over what type went with what picture. Layout is about composition too.

Absolutely! Layout is all composition and yes the layout of that doc could be better. I use it in class as a visual aide and show other examples of the compositions I identify.
Ansel Adams photo of the rocks with a large one in the foreground and the two mountains in the background is an example of symmetrical, foreground interest, and rule of thirds all in the same photo. one of the reasons it's a classic photo, oh and the incrediblly long DOF due to a lens with an f-stop of 64
