Hard to believe this was your mode of transportation back in time. Can you imagine what it will be like in another 100 years?
I like your Sepia tone for this picture, it suites it well.👍

I agree with Jim that the sepia is wonderful here. I also like your composition. This just works.

Frank, Thank you for posting that neat shot and for waking an old memory! 35+ years ago I hiked through the woods from the Old Mine Rd. to VanCampen's Ravine. Lugging a 4X5 w/tripod and accessories to photograph a waterfall. I wasn't happy with the results and intended to go back and try again someday but, life decided other wise. I see from Google maps there is now a trail going in there and the ravine is now a "Glen". (Guess that's a more attractive word or something.) With a trail now to help my old legs,I might yet go back there.

Thanks Jim. While working on it, it kind of hit me that this should not be a color image.
My cousins wife's grandparent moved in a covered wagon to Texas and in 1969 saw the moon landing. Now that is a lot of change on 70 or so years.

Thanks Erich. It was a good time to be there at Millbrook. It is not always open. Just got lucky that day, as I drove by. I will post additional shots down the road.
The sepia also works for me.

Well Rich I am sure a lot has changed since the last time you were there. Definitely, no lugging a 4x5 for me on this trip. There is a cemetery there that is not accessible anymore since Super Storm Sandy. Mother Nature has reclaimed her own. The same is true with a covered bridge , that also can not be reached.
Glad I could stir some memories for you.

Great scene. I wonder if it would be more to your intent if the shadows on the wagon were lightened a bit and the image reversed.

Bob I get the idea of reversing the image, reading left to right. Well at least that is what I think you are referring. I didn’t want to go too light with the shadows particularly since it is no longer in color. I wanted that contrast.
