Only use your eyes!
1- Find the C in the table below!
2- If you have already found the C,
Then find the 6 in the table below.
3- Now find the N in the table below.
Attention, it's a little more difficult!
The C was a little difficult to find. The 6 was easier than the C. The N was the easiest of all.

My wife died of Alzheimer's and for several years before it became severe, she knew she had memory problems. It started by her always having to write appointments down to remember them and progressed. She knew she had a problem. A far more reliable sign (at least in her case) was putting things away in unusual places. The keys in the refrigerator is an excellent example. It became very difficult to find anything she had put away. Talk to your primary care doc about seeing a neurologist if any of your family has memory problems and do not take no for an answer. We talked to my wife's PCP several times about her memory problems and were told nothing could be done. When we did see the Neurologist he said I wish you had come to see me long ago.

Actually, latest hypothesis among some researchers is that passage through a door does "reset" recent intentions because the brain is wired to consider new scene with highest priority and so the earlier intention in moving through the doorway is superseded. The "fix" is to consciously think about what you're doing as you enter the room instead of letting your thoughts drift before you get to the doorway. I forget whether this works for me or not but it might work for you.

Yes, that's a possibility.

Another rumor is that oxygen is killing us. It just takes a long time. : )

I've heard that stomach cancer is caused by human salive when swallowed in small amounts over a long period of time. (That is from George Carlin)

I've also hear that memory loss is the second problem we encounter as we age.

It's not doorways, it's thinking about doing something else.

What if you walk thru the door backwards, will that help you to not forget or will it recall a memory you are trying hard to forget?

I was once told not to worry when you forget where you put your keys, it's when you can't remember what the keys are for, that it's a problem.
