Out of all the available online used camera/lens stores which one do you trust the most? This question is about trust not necessarily price. Thank you.

keh is the only one I have purchased from and was very happy with my purchases. I am sure other dealers are also good.

...I've purchased from KEH and Roberts. Happy with either one for used gear!

I will vote for KEH. Would have voted for B&H and Adorama, but not so much lately. eBay can be good, but only if you are very cautious.

B&H is very good - haven't done a lot with KEH, but good transactions. My favorite and best experiences with Roberts Camera Used Photo Pro. Price, quality, service through many transactions just excellent.

mpb.com is a good place to deal with. Never had any problems or complaints with them.
They also seem to give the best prices on gear you sell to them.
I have had good dealings with keh too.

I have purchased many items from Camera Cottage, Tripod, Nikkor 105mm macro lens, Nikon D7200, etc. (very respected & knowledgeable member, MT Shooter (Carter). All items purchased were as Carter said they were if not better. I believe he is retiring at the end of December and will be selling his camera store in Montana. Right now might be a very good time to check out his stock and prices.

Over the years I've bought used from KEH, B&H, Adorama, Roberts, Olympus (refurbished) and, recently Kenmore in Seattle. All have delivered the goods as advertised and on time. I've also had occasion to make returns to KEH, B&H, Adorama and Roberts, all of whom gave near-immediate refunds (per their policies re: shipping costs) with no questions asked. So I can't say I trust any one of 'em any more than another - I would happily buy from whichever one has what I'm looking for at the moment.

I have not purchased from KEH but recently sold to them on three occasions. I had a question on one of the transactions and got a return phone call promptly. The person I spoke to seemed very knowledgeable and helpful.

I trust them.

Though it's not a store, I have had 9 flawless transactions purchasing equipment on FredMiranda.com's classified section.

I second your second.

Does that mean I third KEH?

I've used most of the vendors listed already. KEH is my preference, but I've encountered a few issues. They do a lot of business and the used equipment is 'inspected' when they purchase, but not tested like you need to do upon receipt. I can think of two issues with equipment over 12+ purchases of both lenses and cameras. You have a 2-week return period, no questions asked, to get a return authorization and send the equipment back. If anything is amiss or you decide it wasn't the purchase you needed, just send it back with a prepaid label. I've never had any issues in any equipment I've purchased and kept. I usually buy EX / EX+ rated. I've done one Bargain camera body that has some scratches on the LCD that doesn't impact performance, while significantly discounting their sales price.

B&H has shown the highest credibility over many years of purchasing "previously owned" lens and cameras... KEH likewise has an excellent track record in long running experience with them for "used" lens...

Have had only a single transaction with mpb.com in which the product had issues... That said MPB was exceptional in handling this... provided return shipping label and I received a prompt refund... So yes I can honestly recommend them also...

As for Amazon? It's pretty much a crap shoot... even research the vendors carefully doesn't always work... However I've had some amazing luck purchasing hard to find lens (typically from Japan) so they can be an option albeit do your homework carefully... I have scored two lens from a Amazon affiliates that are optically stellar however have some minor issues I've been able to easily workaround (especially considering the "bargain price!"... thus if you are diligent you can find some excellent equipment of consider worth and value from Amazon affiliates... (at least this has been my experience).

btw, I have assisted numerous commercial shooters in my market and they all purchase their kit as "Refurbished" by the manufacturer.... They shared that it is certain that the gear has been verified as fully functional (something new in the box isn't)... And there livelihood depends on their kit.

Hope this helps...
