Today we are in Lourdes, France. Lourdes is located in southern France in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The city is well known as the site where, in 1858, the Virgin Mary appeared in an apparition to the 14 year old Bernadette Soubirous. Since that time the city has become a major pilgrimage site and is visited by the faithful from around the world. Comments welcome and I hope you enjoy.
#1 The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. Besides the church itself, the Sanctuary includes the surrounding area as well as the grotto where the apparitions occurred.

I believe no. 5 is my favorite shot, and the pink flowers are lovely, tom!

Thank you kindly MT for taking a look again and for your comments. We found Lourdes to be a very peaceful place, especially compared to all the activity in Paris. I tried to find some natural beauty in all the places we visited.
