A finger tip and vaseline

Hi All How about this little trick. All of us I am sure has those throw away clear or UV filters we seem to acquire. Try dipping your finger very lightly in vaseline and smear it around the edge, leaving a center clear spot. It can get one effects that you could pay a good bit for, and cost virtually nothing. Try it you might like it. I leave you all with one example. From a street Taieko drumming group. RBorud

I would have never thought of doing that. I do have several of those filters that mostly just sit around waiting for their day to shine. This could be just the motivation I need to rejuvenate those poor unused filters. Thanks for the tip.

I hadn't thought about that technique for years. Of course I can't remember his name but there was a photographer for Penthouse Magazine back in the Kodachrome days who was famous for using Vaseline to blur his shots.
