0 here too. First time. Now what to do with the candy. Three bags of peanut butter cups. I hate peanut butter.

I may have the record here. Our turn out was relatively light and the weather was crummy, but we got about 50. That means less candy for me and the wife to eat, which is good 'cuz neither of us should eat too much of it.

How many did you get?

Tonight we had over 130 trick or treaters'. Perfect weather vs the severe weather the 31st that blew trees down and put thousands of people without power.

Zero. My driveway is very long and twists up a mountain side into spooky dark woods. We never have any kids come to the house.

Trick-or-treating was different this year, even though it was unseasonably warm, (62 degrees) there was a slight drizzle. No one at all came to our house, as we are on a main road with few houses close together. We went out to a nearby development, where my son, dressed as the Grim Reaper, gave an 85-year-old man a start, and he remarked, "It is not a good idea to show up at my house dressed as The Grim Reaper."
At the end of our evening, a blast of wind and an accompanying deluge had us drenched and running for the car. In the morning, it was 38 degrees, still windy, branches down, and most of the leaves off the trees.

Even in this era, where carefully cultivated doubt and complex metaphor have numbed our thinking, the sight of the Grim Reaper can be a bit startling.

Our weather caused a delay until Saturday, Nov 2. We had 21 kids, and 1 costumed dog (I had a treat for her, too), last year we had 28. Our neighborhood is home to a lot of new people with young children. Glad to see the ones we saw. We still have a bunch of candy bars left over. Oh well, we bought what we like and it will take all year to get rid of it.
